Using stunning photography provided by UK Hide and through careful selection of fonts and layout styles, mmd’s design team created a beautiful website design which immediately made users feel that they were dealing with a supplier of premium quality products, regardless of whether they were on a small mobile device or a large desktop. mmd built the website using the WordPress content management which allowed the client to easily manage the content on the website, such as adding new pages or adding blog posts and news items.
With such a large number of products, mmd utilised the WooCommerce ecommerce software which made it easy for the client to add and remove products and descriptions, add high resolution images and manage the many technical specifications of each product whilst making it easy for visitors to filter products by criteria such as colour or price range.
mmd customised WooCommerce to enable users to order samples of leather easily and the client could easily manage sample requests through the system and by email notifications.
With ecommerce systems in particular, it’s vital to use secure, robust hosting and ensure that the software is kept up to date (due to personal data and potential financial data being a target for thieves). UK Hide retained mmd to host (via their managed hosting provider WP Engine) and manage the website, monitoring uptime and carrying out fortnightly updates of the software to ensure everything is as secure as possible.
